A national association for war brides

November 10, 2011 by Sharon Adams
Saskatchewan war brides recently celebrated their annual reunion by voting to form a national organization, The Canadian War Brides and Families. A new executive has  members from B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario.  The membership fee is $10.

More than 40,000 women, and with them more than 20,000 children, were transported to Canada after the Second World War to rejoin their husbands.

Those interested in joining can contact the  president Jean Fells at jean.fells@shaw.ca or by telephone at 1-306-978-1370.

The Canadian War Brides website  has a list of  provincial war brides associations.
